Surgery Information
All surgical patients are admitted between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., on the day of the scheduled surgery. We request that no food or water be given to the pet twelve (12) hours before surgery.
As normal hospital procedure you will be requested to complete and sign an authorization/release form which gives the hospital permission to perform the services that you have requested. This form can also be completed "On Line".
Most surgery patients will be allowed to go home the day of surgery, unless it isn’t a routine surgery or unforeseen complications arise. You will be able to talk to the doctor or a technician when you pick up your pet for special post-surgery instructions of any question that you might have.
After hours emergency care is provided by the Pet Emergency Treatment Service. They are located at 1668 Mallory Lane at Cool Springs, and are fully staffed with pet emergency medicine specialists during the hours that we are closed. Call 333-1212 for emergency information.
